Thoughts about Jiu-Jitsu and the Universe

The Cage

We have an octagon in Logan—yep, a cage—in Logan it’s a marketing juggernaut. As a matter of fact having a cage in northern Utah is pretty rare. I’m going to start a marketing campaign around the cage. None of our competitors in Logan have a cage and the chances of them getting one are slim to none (a cage runs from $7,000 to $10,000)

In Logan we already have certified Gracie instructors (Pedro Sauer team), but that’s not enough, because some of the schools in Logan BS their students well enough that the brain washing can’t be reversed, but a cage is different—it’s visual, it’s physical proof, it says “Hey we’re serious about this stuff.”

I have to be careful with this marketing, however, simply because West Side is the Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde of Academies. We Love jiu-jitsu and MMA and I don’t want one aspect of our school to outweigh the other. It’s a fine balance, but the cage is something unique about our school and I want people to know about it.
