Thoughts about Jiu-Jitsu and the Universe

While refereeing at The West Side vs. Foley’s tourney last Saturday, I witnessed the most hideous display of grappling foot wear that I have ever seen. They’re called grappling socks. They look like dress socks with built in toes and little rubber dots on the bottom for traction. I feel that these socks are an abomination and should be ridiculed and scoffed at, and the wearer ousted from any competition he or she enters.

Unless of course the person who dons these repugnant accessories is our own Ginga’Ninja, then he should get points for style. I give the man points on having balls and being original, but the socks were just so damn ugly I just can’t get past that. I know it’s vain. I know it should be function before fashion, but I just can’t help it—grappling socks are the ugliest things that I have ever seen.

Mark those socks are pretty normal style socks, the japanese love them. but out of all the grappling, Judo and other karate competitions i have gone to in japan, I have never seen those socks used …ever…

Wow what a freak show abomination!

grappling socks help prevent infectious skin diseases, like athletes foot, impetigo, staph, MRSA, and herpes — all of which are definitely worth insulting your sense of style to prevent spreading/contracting.
