Thoughts about Jiu-Jitsu and the Universe

The problem with passion is it can lead you to the poor house. If you’re not careful your desire and focus can be seduced by your passions, you’ll be poor, but you’ll probably be happy. I think there’s a fine line between the blissful and blind following of one’s passion and the careful and methodical discipline of creating a business out of the thing you’re passionate about.

Converting your passion into a business can destroy how you feel about the thing you’re passionate about—in the end, sometimes you begin to loathe the thing you loved. Luckily for me that’s not the case. I love jiu-jitsu more and more every day; it’s a wonderful art that seems to have infinite avenues to travel and discover ones self. So, I guess following your passion isn’t really a problem because a man who has found his passion is never really poor.
