Weakness

I just read Killer J’s post on weakness and jiu-jitsu and I myself have been thinking about the weaknesses in my own game and then I started thinking about it—everything has a weakness—you can’t not nave a weakness.

Think about it, the hardest natural substance known to man, the diamond, has weaknesses. That’s how they’re “cut.” They’re cleaved at a weak point in their structure, so they’re actually broken or fractured more than they are cut. The jeweler finds the weakness and then exploits it. We all have weaknesses, and I think it’s smart and admirable to find our own and try to improve them, but we must realize that we will always have some, just like our friend the diamond.

So if the diamond can be broken, so can we. It’s nothing to fret over, we can improve and protect our weaknesses, but we must realize that we can never get rid of all of them.

Thanks for the linking. Also, your follow up to my post is more realistic. I’d like to THINK I can get rid of all my weaknesses, but it truly isn’t possible. Unless you’re Roger Gracie.
