Thoughts about Jiu-Jitsu and the Universe

A kind word and a business card were the catalyst for yesterday’s jiu-jitsu demonstration for a group of airmen from Hill Air Force Base. West Side is in the running to teach jiu-jitsu to a group from the base. The thing is, the entire thing happened because of one person, with one West Side card talked about the school to a friend (who happened to belong to this group of airmen), and that person talked to another in the group, who called me–and yesterday we showed our jiu-jitsu to some commanders from Hill.

I don’t know if we’ll get the gig. I’d like to, but the more important thing is to realize that people support your school, of course financially, but far greater than money is a kind word. Your school is more than a building; it’s more than mats and bags and a cage; it’s made up of people who are willing to help make the school (their school) successful. There were many people willing to help West Side yesterday and I appreciate it.

Thanks Sarah, Brian, Chris, Corey and Grayson, West Side loves you.
