On Resistance

If there is no resistance, your opponent has nothing to fight against. Man, how profound is that? I forget that in jiu-jitsu and in life—don’t fight, flow. If a guy grabs your neck looking to sink in the guillotine, the worst thing we could do is pull back. We’re only stretching out our own neck—a turkey on Thanksgiving. We’re only giving our opponent the opportunity to sink the guillotine in deeper. There should be little resistance. Go forward, go into the choke and pass the guard—don’t fight, flow.

This is good stuff right here Mark. Thanks.
